The Origins of Sleeping Beauty

The earliest known story resembling Sleeping Beauty appears in the anonymous French romance Perceforest. It was written in French between 1330 and 1344. Similar themes also appear in the Catalan poem Frayre de Joy e Sor de Paser between 1320 and 1340.
