The Wharram Percy “Revenant” Burials

Vampire burials are found across Europe and raise many questions as to how people in the medieval age viewed death and its connection to life. It wasn’t enough to be dead because it wasn’t the end; after all, you could return as a revenant or worse…as a vampire.

What Does The Wharram Percy Burial Mean

This vampire burial is one of the most fascinating and disturbing medieval discoveries in Britain to date. The site at Wharram Percy revealed strong archaeological evidence that medieval villagers believed that some of the dead could rise from their graves as vampires, basically, undead corpses that physically returned to harm the living.

The villagers took extreme steps to stop it.

The Medieval Vampire Burial In Bulgaria

Let’s talk about the so-called “vampire burials” found in 2004 in Bulgaria. Let’s talk about their real archeological finds, and not internet creepypasta.

What Happened In The 00s In Bulgaria?

It was in 2004 that archeologists uncovered medieval skeletons in Sozopol, a coastal town on the Black Sea. The corpses dated roughly to the 13th-14th century.

But why does it matter so much, and why is it called a “vampire burial”? Well, for once, the skeletons had iron rods driven through their chests.

The World’s First Vampire Was From Croatia And His Name Was Jure “Grando” Alilović

Vampires are a fascinating subject, and their presence in history goes back millennia. But who was the first vampire ever to exist? Who knows? But the first documented one came from Croatia, and his name was Jure “Grando” Alilović from Kringa.

Where And What Is Croatia?

The Republic of Croatia is located in Southeastern and Central Europe. Part of the Balkans, Croatia shares robust historical ties with the Hasburg Monarchy, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and also has Roman Catholic traditions.

Croatia is on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. To the northwest, it touches Slovenia, Hungary to the northeast, to the east, it touches Serbia, and to the southeast, it touches Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Montenegro, and to the west, it shares a maritime border with Italy.

Another Kind of Halloween: When Folklore Meets the Paranormal

Explore the darker origins of Halloween through true tales of the paranormal. From Peter Stumpp, the real “werewolf” of Bedburg, to misunderstood witches, zombie science, and a chilling vampire story from Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, this article dives into the eerie truths behind folklore, myth, and the mysteries that still haunt us today.

The paranormal has fascinated me for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, the idea that death might not be the end, that life could twist into another form on a spectral plane, kept me wide-eyed under the covers.

The thought that the full moon could awaken something wild inside us, that creatures of the night might truly walk among us, always gave me that familiar chill I never wanted to end.

Young Blood Transfusion Have Anemic Result

There are many conspiracy theories out there concerning various topics. But one in particular caught my attention. Did vampires have it right? Was Elizabeth Báthory on to something with her young virgin baths? Young plasma transfusion can keep you young?

What Is Young Plasma Transfusion?

One night, I was watching my usual reaction YouTuber, and a clip from a channel talking about conspiracy theories mentioned rejuvenation. The video stated that their father used his grandson’s plasma to help restore his memory capability, but as a side effect, he started de-aging.

Another clip made the same claims, saying the person had de-aged twenty-five years. Are we talking about the neurological network, the organs, the internal clock, or appearance? I don’t know. However, whatever the consequences of the transfusion were, those claims are that the overall process causes the patient to grow younger.

Did You Know That Vlad The Impaler, Cried Tears Of Blood?

Many things are said about the Prince of Wallachia, known as Vlad the Impaler. He was the guy who impaled people. He is the vampire Count Dracula. But have you heard of him crying blood tears?

What Do We Know About Vlad The Impaler?

Vlad the Impaler lived in the 1400s or close to the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Renaissance era. Romania was separated into three principalities: Wallachia, Transylvania and Moldavia. He was the middle child of a family of three sons. His mother was a noblewoman, while his father was Vlad Dracul II, Prince of Wallachia.

Vlad Dracula was a Christian-Orthodox, as was Wallachia, placed between the Roman Catholic Empire and the Islamic Ottoman Empire. Due to political and religious conflict, Wallachia was a vassal state rather than a country in its own right. When Vlad Dracula took over the throne, he put Wallachia on the map and grew its legend.

An Introduction To What Does It Mean To Me To Be A Vampire

Most people know little about vampires beyond what Hollywood has portrayed them. But what if I told you that, in many ways, I am a vampire? Come read my story.

Come Peek Into My Vampirish Diary

This article is the first of many I planned to explain and dive into the world of vampires. There are so many fields, categories, genres, and lifestyles related to millennia-old and worldwide known creatures that one article wouldn’t cover it.

However, there is also more to know as to why I wanted to be the one exploring the subject. My passion for vampires goes back to my toddler years, but there is more to it. Not only do I relate to the vampire creature, but I am also a certified vampirologist.

Béla Kiss Is All About Vampires And Human Pickles

Many murderers kept the attention of the public on high alert or passionate to know more about their history. This killer might not be as famous as others, but it certainly will hold your attention. Here is the story of a vampire who likes pickles!

Who Is Béla Kiss, And Where Is He From?

Let us go to Hungary, where a dangerous man was born in 1877, Béla Kiss. As a child, reports say that Béla was a victim of incest perpetuated by his mother, Verona Varga.

Born in the city of Izaák but lived in Cinkota, which used to be close to Budapest but is now neighbouring the city. Béla Kiss was a tinsmith, meaning he made repairs on items made of tin or any metals.

The Odaxelagnia Paraphilia Complex

Many kinks are now part of our daily lives as they make their way into our phones or while browsing. With the inclusion of so many types of romance novels, among other entertainment, one caught my attention, odaxelagnia. Let’s dive in!

The Quick Overall View Of Odaxelagnia

The simplest way to put it, odaxelagnia ranges itself in the paraphilia family. Odaxelagnia is, at its core, achieving orgasmic or sexual arousal through biting your partner or the other way around.

Some researchers consider odaxelagnia to be sadomasochism at a mild level. Often the bites resemble nibbling, which is quite similar to many mammals in the wild when performing sexual intercourse.

13 Years Ago Monster High Taught Goths To Stand Up For Themselves

In 2010, when Monster High debuted on store shelves, nobody knew little goths would emerge from their coffins. 13 years later, goths have a bone to pick!

Fangtastic Goth Collecting Story

I am an obsessive collector of many things: True Blood, Hotel Transylvania The Series, Vlad the Impaler books, and Monster High. You know, goth things! When I was young, the only one I could relate to was Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family until I could read and discover Frankenstein.

The thing is, I was born in 1985, and so Monster High came into my life when I was twenty-five. I fell in love with Frankie Stein! I know the OCD Vampire doesn’t place Draculaura first. What gives? But Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is unique, and Frankie Stein is so adorable!

Gothic Bite Magazine Interviews Their Writer, Ivy Wayne

At Gothic Bite Magazine we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patient now. This week, we welcome Ivy Wayne

Patient Name: Ivy Wayne

I’m Ivy Wayne, and I grew up in the publishing world and attended acting/art school. I grew up in a small northern French town in Québec, Canada. Determined to make it into the big leagues. I learned English independently. I had Stephen King, Oliver Bowden, Charlaine Harris, Jeaniene Frost, Katie Aiken Ritter and Bernard Cornwell as my ‘literary teachers in writing.

Odd to most people, I became a bookworm and developed an antisocial personality disorder my whole life. I fought many stereotypes and misconceptions from the outside world her entire life. After all, horror is hard to defend to other parents when your daughter is only six-year-old.

Blood Creek — 2009

Would Cancel Culture Cancel 2009 Blood Creek?

With all the movements of awareness in today’s United States in the film industry, it’s hard to be edgy. The horror genre is often either overlooked or over-judged by people that aren’t horror fans, to begin with. So, my review of the movie Blood Creek, fourteen years later…

The Official Summary

In 1936, the Wollners, a German family living in Town Creek, West Virginia, are contacted by the Third Reich to host a visiting scholar. In need of money, they accept Professor Ricard Wirth into their home, unaware of the Third Reich’s practices in the occult or Wirth’s real mission, which will keep the family bound for decades to come.

Now, more than 70 years later, Evan Marshall’s older brother Victor mysteriously disappears near Town Creek for two years and suddenly returns very much alive, having escaped his captors.

Before The Birth Of Vlad The Impaler There Was His Father

When we think of Romania, we often think about Vlad the Impaler, but every historical figure has a beginning and an origin story. Let’s go back to the beginning to unveil the man behind the larger-than-life figure he became.

An Only Child With No Friends By Choice

I was the odd kid parents warned their children about. I was the nightmare blowing through mindless youngsters’ hair. No grown-up liked me, and I hadn’t a care. All I needed were books, blank papers, crayons, and one person from history to kick-start my story.

My maternal grandparents raised me as I was their only child’s child. My grandpa worked at a printing and binding company and often would come home with boxes of expensive books that didn’t make the cut. It was a minor mistake, like the margin’s width or not the right colour, and so on. As an only child surrounded by books all the time, I started reading ahead of other children my age and went to a performing arts school.

Is Cain The First Evil Of Earth Or A Self-Made Demon?

Some of us know the story of Cain and Abel, while others know the character better from the Netflix series Lucifer. What is fascinating about Cain’s character is his ambiguity regarding evil and demons.

The Origin Of Cain

From the Book of Genesis, Cain came as a biblical figure from ancient religions and made its place within King James’ Bible. Cain is Adam and Eve’s firstborn and so Abel’s older brother. We know Adam and Eve to be the first two humans created.

Cain was a farmer, and all his crops were offerings to the Lord. However, despite his dedication, the Lord wasn’t happy. To make matters worse, the Lord displayed his favouritism toward Abel. This display of affection angered Cain and made him quite jealous of his younger brother.

Anglo-Saxon Dangerous Dead Burial In Nottinghamshire

In the Middle Ages, the rise of many beliefs creeping out of ancient folklore surfaced. One of them is the vampire, alongside witches that were common and werewolves. In modern times, when digging in the ‘old country,’ one might find rather strange burials.

The Middle Ages Fortune-Tellers

Back in Medieval Times, people didn’t have meteorologists to explain Mother Nature’s behaviour. They didn’t have the luxury of biologists telling them not to drink stagnant water. Instead, people had other ways to explain diseases and poor crops.

People of the Middle Ages often tried to find someone to blame, and it would come from dark places. With the Church spreading its wings across Europe, witchery was the popular belief.

Fall Back Means Vampires Are Coming Out Of The Coffin

Daylight saving time might go back to the first world war when electricity and power weren’t abundant but still something we practise in many countries to this day. But it means something entirely different for people like me.

This Is Not A History Class

When it’s time to ‘Fall Back,’ I get quite excited. It’s not because of the one more hour of sleep illusion, but because there will be less daylight. Society targets people like me when most agree that the sun is the main power for humankind as we function better and see better, including Vitamin D and E.

For as long as time, humankind progressed in daylight. It’s a general consensus that society made it ‘normal’ for people to work during the day and sleep at night. Not aware of places where daylight is less abundant all year round and is home to many people. Of course, those places are situated toward the poles but exist and are welcoming.

The Vampire Disease From The Dark Ages To Today

The Vampire Disease. Many people heard of it but do people really know what it is? Or what it means to the people who live with it? I have the illness at a mild level. Here’s how it goes!

Beware, Vampires Are Out Of The Coffin! Really, Read The Warning!

This article contains graphic descriptions of the medical condition widely spread as ‘Vampire Disease’ and its symptoms. The following article is an in-depth dive into the illness and what it implies, and what it is like for people like me to live with this condition.

If you are sensitive to medical tools, treatment, and physical descriptions of diseases, I recommend skipping this article. Because the illness can relate to mental disorders, I also recommend ensuring all readers are comfortable with the nervous system and brain illnesses.

Lifestyle-Shaming Is A Normal People Thing

Humans are solar-powered for the most part. But, what if you’re just a goth? Learning that you are a nocturnal creature goes against society’s beliefs. Either that or you’re young partying too much.

From Dusk Till Dawn

Lifestyle-shaming is a normal people thing. This is something quite interesting, isn’t it?

We see the people we love getting up when we go to bed. We get laughed at or criticised for living in the night. People believe we aren’t normal, and we hear the same sentences repeatedly.
