“Your Nightmare” by Vampyrëan featuring Chris Pohl Review

I enjoy checking out new music blind to me. Vampyrëan was one I had not heard before.

A Solo Project

Vampyrëan is the solo project from Vlad Janicek, a former member of Nosferatu. That right away got my attention.

I am familiar with Nosferatu and really enjoy their gothic rock-infused music. I then saw that Chris Pohl from Blutengel is featured on the track. That made me even more excited to listen.

The Worst Night Terror Ever Told

It is Halloween, and what is it without a good horror story? Even better when it turns out to be real. In some ways.

Living With Night Terrors

This is it, the worst night terror ever told.

It all started when I was four years old—or so I can remember. I would have quite detailed nightmares and real to the touch it had me not wanting to sleep. Later, my grandparents raised me.

My mother even revealed to me that I would not want to sleep in daycare. I was afraid I would not wake up.

Her breathing was slow, even, comforting in its regularity. He glanced at her every so often when the clacking of shoes on tile stirred him from his book. In the cavernous silence, the pages whispered with each turning. The story, lifted from his favorite video game series, captivated him.

The Sandman An Underrated Creature Or Monster?

Mr. Sandman bring me a dream. Make him the cutest that I’ve ever seen. Give him to lips like roses and clover. Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over.

Mystical Origins

The origin of the character of the Sandman brings us to northern-western Europe; however, it is uncertain to exactly where it began. European folklore describes the Sandman as a man who sprinkles sand or dust on or in the eyes of children to have them fall asleep. In most versions, the Sandman only brings out good dreams.

The Sandman A Poem And A Nightmare

The idea of someone throwing sand in my eyes to have one fall asleep is a creepy thought. Isn’t it?

Scary Granulated Stones

There are not many monsters that scares me, however, when it comes to the Sandman I feel quite disturbed.

He comes in your room at night, throws sand into your eyes and makes you believe it’s for good dreams and yet, I used to have night terrors.

To me, growing up, the Sandman was nothing more that a dreadful evil dust merchant.
