A Slow-Burning Descent: UZU’s Ichi EP Review

A blend of industrial tones, haunting vocals, and emotional weight—UZU’s Ichi unfolds as a slow-burning experience. But does its atmosphere and sound fully carry the album from start to finish?

The EP’s Sound:

The album starts off with a quiet instrumental and expands into good sounds from the artist throughout. Even though at times the songs tend to drag, the vocals remain strong across the tracks. The band reminds me of earlier industrial rock sounds from the ’90s, with a mix of low, slow vocals backed by real instruments and electronic beats.

Review Of The Music Video Mercy By Fourth Heaven

A haunting blend of tarot symbolism, smoke, and gothic atmosphere, Fourth Heaven’s Mercy draws you into a world of mysticism and emotion. But beneath the visuals, does the story and sound truly hold its ground?

Mercy – The Music Video

The Fourth Heaven video opens with the vocalist standing still, composed, and delivering her lines with a calm presence. The visuals lean into a Victorian, bygone aesthetic, with smoke drifting around a tarot card table, creating a mystical and slightly occult atmosphere. Throughout the video, the band members appear intermittently, though mostly in static shots.

Review of Post Mortem Invictus Album by Luci Ferrum

Luci Ferrum recently reached out to Gothic Bite Magazine to review her work. The following is our full review of the tracks she shared with us.

“Across the EP, themes move through emotional deadlock (“Push and Pull”), inherited trauma (“Cycle Breaker”), and mental self-mutilation demanded by others (“Custom Made”). Sonically, the record blends industrial grit, trip-hop intimacy, and cinematic tension, supported by tightly disciplined vocal performances.” — Luci Ferrum

This is written and reviewed by song with my opinion at the end of the review. Onto the review!

Did The Devil Really Lost A Fiddle Contest In Georgia?

There are many songs and genres claiming to belong to the devil. However, there’s only one song challenging the devil to a fiddle competition! What is it about this song that we enjoy so much?

Rest In Peace And Eternally Rest

Biters, I want to start this article on a rather serious note. March is now a rather big month in my home. A year ago, on March 8th, we lost my stepfather. He introduced me to the song I’m reviewing this month, so with that in mind, Rick, in memoriam, this article is for you.

Come And Read About An Up-Coming Release From Gothic Band, Susurration!

I love the sound of the dark and disturbing. Gothic, pulsating beats that ignite my inner vampire. So, it was a really thrilling delight to be given the chance to review the EBM project, Susurration.

Behind The Name Susurration

The project Susurration, which I must add, has an interesting meaning behind the name of the musical project—Susurration means to whisper. It stands for aggressive, driving EBM beats and melancholic darkwave songs. They always integrate influences from classical music and theatre music.

The last album, ‘Make Love Like War,’ which came out in September 2022, was presented by Orkus and Sonic Seducer and received many discussions on many international scene blogs.

It’s Been A While

A while back, in my Wolf Totem article, I did a mini review on somebody I’ve been wanting to talk about for ages Pamela Romvel and David Galardi, better known as The Covers Duo.

So, Biters, let’s move these two from the Gothic Bite Magazine opening act to the GBM headliners and take a closer look at The Covers Duo.

“Your Nightmare” by Vampyrëan featuring Chris Pohl Review

I enjoy checking out new music blind to me. Vampyrëan was one I had not heard before.

A Solo Project

Vampyrëan is the solo project from Vlad Janicek, a former member of Nosferatu. That right away got my attention.

I am familiar with Nosferatu and really enjoy their gothic rock-infused music. I then saw that Chris Pohl from Blutengel is featured on the track. That made me even more excited to listen.

Come read about the foreign group that is inspiring our YouTube Addict, James Vaughan! Come over and discover music you might not have heard of before!

Mongolian Wolves

Biters, I think it’s obvious at this point I’m a bit of a hard rock, metal fan. So, I’d like to tackle the Mongolian throat singing metal band The Hu.

The Hu was introduced to me a few months back by one of my gaming friends. It happened through what must be their most well-known song and the center piece of this article, Wolf Totem.

Music Week Goes Mega Metal with Megadeth

We often rock is dead and sometimes we might believe it. But, the rock we know is passed down generations! Dora is here to remind us of Megadeth!

80s Heavy Metal

Back in the 80s, we had a surge of new music invading the pop charts, you had bands like Eurythmics, Duran Duran, Madonna, Poison, Bon Jovi, etc.

These were friendly listening bands to play on the radio and MTV, but there was a piece of underground music rearing its teeth with screaming guitars, social lyrics, and blasting drums.

Music Week Goes Full Metal Song Covers

After a week of phobia now, Biters, we’re going into music! So, as a YouTube addict, let me present you, my musician.

 Fear To Cheer

Seems we get to go from fears to cheers this week Biters, it’s a GBM music week. I’ve always thought there is no such thing as a bad song. It’s just the wrong artist or the wrong genre.

That being said, Biters and GBM writers alike may have noticed I love hard rock. I love cover bands. So this week hailing from Norway, uploading his first video way back in 2006. But not going viral until 2013, he now sits at 3.89 million subscribers, 813 videos, and 963,507,565 views.

Music Haunted By A Ghost From Sweden

My band, I’m listening to for inspiration, and finding my sleep is Ghost. Who are they? Hmmm, that is a good question I’m happy to answer.

Ghostly Yours

The Scandinavian musical band Ghost originates from Sweden in the town of Linköping. In the United States, some knew them as Ghost B.C. Some say they are rock, but when you listen to their music to me, they fall under Gothic Rock.

That, to me, is due to the orchestration that is quite prominent in their unique sound. Music haunted by a Ghost from Sweden and I’m all over it!
