The Story Of The 19th Century Forgotten Cannibal

A subject that remains taboo to this day is cannibalism. Somehow serial killers that commit repetitive scenarios are unforgivable, but if we add cannibalism to their title, somehow, they become another kind of evil. But this one slipped through the cracks.

The Forgotten Ones

From murders to mass shootings, our history knows its fair share of serial killers. Many of them hope to reach the ultimate glory of having their name remembered, such as Ted Bundy and Richard Ramirez.

Over time, some slip through the cracks of history pages and become an afterthought. Some have minimal information about them and what they did is unknown to the public.

Batman’s The Joker Is The Greatest Villain And Here Is Why

Have you ever thought about the psychological state of Batman’s villains? I do. So, let’s dive in and learn more about the worst that Gotham has to offer!

How It Started For Joker

In Spring 1940, the Joker made its first appearance in Batman #1. A few of us don’t know that he was meant to be a one-issue villain. We know that he is Batman’s archnemesis, but he is also a criminal mastermind. So, let’s see about the Joker’s psychological file!

However, due to his popularity, the prankster continued his journey in the comic book. Despite his popularity, reinvented as a harmless villain, the Joker fell into the abyss until the 70s.

Gothic Queen Classic Remake Review

It is not the first time that our pop culture expert, James or our favourite Skeleton Hiding In Our Closet do reviews about classic remakes, so, without further due, here’s a new one!

It’s Good To Be Back!

Alright, Biters,

I have something a little different for you. Both friends, family and even coworkers have encouraged me to share about my autism. With that, I have not one but four YouTube cover artists for the price of one.

Biters meet Violet Orlandi, Addie Nicole of Halocene, Audra Miller of First to Eleven, and the GBM return of Lauren Babic. These four ladies are frequent collaborators. So, it’s kind of hard to talk about one without bringing up the others.

The Hellish Killer Who Fought With Joan of Arc

Gilles de Rais or Baron de Rais, was a knight and lord from Brittany, Anjou and Poitou. He was a leader in the French army, and a companion-in-arms of Joan of Arc. So, how is it that his reputation turned to a killer of children?

The True Face Of Evil

Gilles ‘Baron’ de Rais fought alongside Joan of Arc at the Siege of Orléans. This was around La Roche-Bernard in France in September 1438.

de Rais was a young lord who was hailed as a hero. So, understandably any mother would be honored to have their ten-year-old son go live with de Rais and become his page. Unbeknownst to the mother, she would never see her young son again.

Butchered Surgery With A Side Of Cream

Today’s journey takes us to another infamous doctor, a bit lesser-known than Harold Shipman but just as deadly from the United Kingdom.

Not All Doctors Are Good

Thomas Neill Cream, or Dr. Cream, was a Scottish-Canadian medical doctor, graduate from the Montréal McGill University in Québec, Canada. It earned him the moniker of the Lamberth Poisoner as he used strychnine to poison his victims.

Thomas was born in May 1850 and dreamed of becoming a doctor. It was an era where people put their complete trust in doctors and medicine as there was no other way to inform oneself about anatomy and medical procedures. Also, doctors took an oath to save lives.

The Unknown Killer That Inspired Ghostface

Most of the iconic slasher killers of the horror movie genre are based on people that existed or still do. Often, the reality is more morbid than a slasher flick. Here’s one of their stories!

The Beginning Of An Iconic Face

Everyone knows the famous 90s Scream movie franchise, its iconic serial killer, and its name, Ghostface. People could know him from his original franchise with “Do you like scary movies?” or the horror movie parody franchise, Scary Movie.

People might not realize, and I didn’t know until recently, that the original Ghostface killer in the Scream franchise was inspired by a real-life serial killer named Danny Rolling.

The Official Amazon Audiobook Summary

Convinced they are the victims of a sick, practical joke, Heidi and her three friends are resigned to spending the night at The Scarry Inn, even though the atmosphere is anything but welcoming. Surely the owners, Dick and Thelma Scarry, are simply trying to drum up business for their new motel by terrifying the guests.

Lifestyle-Shaming Is A Normal People Thing

Humans are solar-powered for the most part. But, what if you’re just a goth? Learning that you are a nocturnal creature goes against society’s beliefs. Either that or you’re young partying too much.

From Dusk Till Dawn

Lifestyle-shaming is a normal people thing. This is something quite interesting, isn’t it?

We see the people we love getting up when we go to bed. We get laughed at or criticised for living in the night. People believe we aren’t normal, and we hear the same sentences repeatedly.

A Real Vampire Burial

It was customary to bury them differently than people. Back in the day, when populations believed in witches, werewolves and vampires, one was never safe from gossip or vampires.

Vampires In All History

The word vampire might have had various meanings throughout human history, but it did travel the world. Since the dawn of time, creatures with mortal bites have made it into legends and folklores. But what about a real vampire burial?

Find in all civilisations known to humankind, even those that never met, a vampire-like creature made it into history.

Goth Shaming Is A Thing It Is Dreadful

When someone says “goth” or “gothic,” most people automatically think of Marilyn Manson or scary-looking people. Being goth is so much more than that.

I Was Goth Before I Knew It

At thirty-seven years old, I believe I do know a big chunk of myself. I think I was born goth. I just didn’t know it. Or maybe I knew it, but the people raising me didn’t want me to be goth. They tried and shoved the Barbie look down my throat. It didn’t work. Goth shaming is a thing and it is dreadful.

My grandparents raised me. I am an only child, and so is my mother. As for my father, he left not long after I was born, never to return. My grandpa loved me no matter what I looked like. But, my grandmother was all about appearances. She never shied away from letting me know she wanted me to have blond hair and be lady-like.

How To Survive An Iconic Slasher Killer Like Jigsaw

Gothic Bite Magazine is officially relaunched this week! To kickstart our new beginning, we decided to do a week on how to survive an iconic slasher killer.

Putting the Pieces Together to Outwit Jigsaw

WARNING: Torture Porn

Like most horror franchises, the movies are countless, and each one comes up with a new plot and leaves viewers thinking. Now how would I outwit Jigsaw and survive the movie?

The Saw franchise has released nine movies, and unfortunately, we all know Hollywood isn’t the greatest for titling their movies. So we have Saw, Saw II, etc. But the numbers are in roman numerals just to give it a slight edge.

How To Survive An Iconic Slasher Killer Like Freddy

Gothic Bite Magazine is officially relaunched this week! To kickstart our new beginning, we decided to do a week on how to survive an iconic slasher killer.

Surviving Night Terrors

WARNING: Mention of Rape | Pedophilia | Molester | Night/Sleep Terrors | Anxiety.

Living with night terrors all my life had me meet a few therapists. Cursed with horrid nightmares and feeling pain through terror, I learned lucid dreaming. My fear of going to bed also developed insomnia. So, how to survive an iconic slasher killer like Freddy?

I am a light sleeper. Any faint sound can wake me as well as light. I need a white noise machine to muffle uneven noises. If I can feel or see light, as I often sleep with eyes half closed, I wake up, and it’s almost impossible to fall back asleep.
