The Autopsy Of Jane Doe

The Puritan Torture Of Jane Doe

When watching a horror period movie, I wonder if the torture they use is true to the time. I’m a medieval history nerd, and here is my conclusion on the matter.

Before The Puritan torture of Jane Doe let’s make something clear:

SPOILER ALERT is in effect! Movies are dissected, and plots revealed.
MATURE AUDIENCE: Subjects of violence, torture, sex, and gore are part of this article.

What Is The Broom Closet? And Why Is It A Thing?

Broom Closet: a term used by the Pagan community for those who haven’t yet revealed their religion to others.

 Fear Of The Unknown

Quite a few years ago, I got an Awen tattoo on my index finger. When I returned to work a week later, a fellow employee—who was a Christian and was kind to me (before this incident)—asked what it stood for.

When I told them it was a symbol for inspiration and divine illumination for poets, writers, artists, and creatives, they asked about God [Christian God] and what I believed. She interrogated me, and I felt I couldn’t be honest, so I said whatever she wanted me to say, and I’ve been trying to hide my tattoos ever since.

The Parker-Hulme Murder

A new Serial Killer Expert joined the GBM team. Her name is Paula Phillips, and she brings us a story about a New Zealand killer.

The Beautiful 1950s

The year was 1954. Little Things Means A Lot by Kitty Kalen was number one on the Billboard Music Charts. Marilyn Monroe marrying and divorcing Joe DiMaggio was one of the main stories talked about in celebrity headlines.

Meanwhile, in Christchurch, New Zealand, two best friends Pauline Parker and Juliet Hulme, conspired together and murdered the woman keen on separating the girls from seeing each other.

The Horror Lifestyle Is A Thing

The horror is a lifestyle is a thing is a term that has a different meaning to each person who identifies with it.

What Does It Mean For Me

For me, it means: embracing the horror-themed culture that brings us comfort in all things dark and spooky. Basically, we are addicted to the chills you get from anything that gives you a bit of a fright.

Horror culture is something that has blown up over the years. The boom of social media has allowed more horror lovers to showcase their love for all things horror and communities have formed.

Mainstream Horror Vs. Indie Horror

When we think about horror movies or series, we only think about the big screen names. But forced to be inside had me discover gems behind the curtains.

According To The Critiques

Mainstream vs. indie horror is a fair question. If we are talking about horror movies, titles like Halloween and Friday the 13th comes to mind. We can go older with The Exorcist and Psycho. It goes back to the 30s with Dracula and Frankenstein.

Horror is a genre that has been snubbed over the years, over decades! The general public sees horror as a genre without paying attention to all the subgenres. Horror is the tip of the iceberg, it’s what we see but everything underneath are the subgenres.

Each Step Of Catholic Possession Obsession

When working on my new novel series, I thought that I could write it without a sweat with a certification in demonology. But, it turns out that possessions go more profound than we thought. Welcome to Catholic-based possessions.

When The Church Authorizes An Exorcism

When enough proof of demonic possession surfaces, the Catholic Church may authorize an exorcism. However, it goes under scrutiny. The Church doesn’t want to have an association with the devil-like it once did.

For exorcisms to receive approval is almost impossible. Many characteristics must surface, and criteria met. There must be proof of manifestation, foreign language, knowledge, and profanity.

Each step of Catholic Possession Obsession is now in effect but first, the warnings and triggers!
Trigger Warnings: Mental illness | Physical abuse | Mental abuse | Belief | Religion
*** Note here that we are talking about Christianity and Catholic possessions.
With that said, consider yourself warned, and let’s dive in!

The Demon House — A Film By Zak Bagans

The Demon House Documentary

Ghost Adventures is a series that captivates viewers. But its host, Zach Bagans, went a step forward when buying the Indiana Demon House.

The Infamous Ammons House

A little history before we plunge into The Demon House Documentary! The Ammons haunting story is probably most popular when one calls it, the 200 Demon House. Many believe that the demonic possession that occurred in 2011 is alleged.

The house is in the town of Gary in the State of Indiana. It all started with Latoya Ammons and her mother, Rosa Campbell. Latoya was the mother of three children who disclosed the paranormal events taking place inside the house.

GBM Interviews Indie Author M. Sinclair

At Gothic Bite Magazine we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patient now. This week, we welcome Indie Author M. Sinclair!

Patient Name: M. Sinclair

Born and raised in Chicago, I live in Missouri near Whiteman AFB but definitely miss my city traffic and busy coffee shops. I am a parent to 3 cats who support my writing career nearly as much as my cute British husband.

Recently, I became a full-time author to devote more time to expanding my multiple series, and I couldn’t be happier. I tend to focus the majority of my writing on gothic horror and romance, currently focused on the reverse harem subgenre in particular.

GBM Interviews Indie Author Karolyne Cronin

At Gothic Bite Magazine we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patient now. This week, we welcome Indie Author Karolyne Cronin!

Patient Name: Karolyne Cronin

I’m from St. Louis, Missouri, but I have lived and traveled most of the United States. I went to London last year and was inspired to spin more tales. It was a trip of a lifetime. I would love to go there again.

I fell in love with horror and gothic tales when I was five and saw Vincent Price recite The Raven. At nine, I read Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, confirming to my mom that I was just as weird as the rest of the family. My love of this genre doesn’t come from the joy of being scared. It comes exploring the dark nature of the world.

Death Is Not Evil

Okay. So I want to apologize to our subscribers. Not only have I not written an article in a while. Sorry, life happened! But also I’m about to go into a death-related rant. I apologize. On with the rant!

The Death Expert Is Back

Now, as our usual readers know, I am Gothic Bite Magazine‘s Death Expert, which means I write articles about death and whatnot. However, it has come to my attention that the media: television, movies, books, among other platforms, love to make anything related to death, evil.

And, as a Death Positivity Advocate, this irritates me. These platforms and services are why people in this part of the world, i.e., Western society, have death anxiety.

Alleged Vampire Witch

A vampire is a being from folklore that subsists by feeding on the vital force of the living. In European folklore, vampires were undead beings that often visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighborhoods they inhabited while they were alive. — Wikipedia

Debunking History

Throughout human history, the word vampire spread around the world since the dawn of humankind. Legends and myths from different civilizations nowhere near connected, share the same type of creature. Originally meaning: forceful bite, in my cultures, the creature itself seems to share common grounds. Its number one being the taste for blood.

Serial Murders

A serial killer is typically a person who murders three or more people, usually in service of abnormal psychological gratification, with the murders taking place over more than a month and including a significant period of time between them. — Wikipedia

The Brutal Fascination

There seems to be a fascination with serial killers. Even I am intrigued by them. So, what is it about them that piques people interest in them? Is it their crimes, the victims? The types of murders they committed.

The brutality of it all? For me, it’s trying to understand how another human being can be so devoid of emotions that they see other humans as prey. Chilling to think of, but to them, we are a means to their dark desires.

Scorecard Killer

Randy Steven Kraft is an American serial killer known as the Scorecard Killer, the Southern California Strangler. — Wikipedia

Soak Up The Sun

There is something about the State of California, with its sunny beaches, the coast, and its beautiful people, that can be misleading. There’s a darker side to this beautiful state.

Making California a little darker back in the 1970s were a trio of serial killers hunting California freeways for young men. One of these killers was Randy Kraft.
