Before Carol Baskin and Joe Exotic ended up with the titles of ‘The Tiger King/ Woman,’ there was another female in the 1920s whose crime earned her the nickname ‘Tiger Woman.’
A Case Of Possession
This female killer captured my attention recently. After all, we have the same surname, Phillips. She was killed in the name of love. She lived with the justification as follows.
Gothic Bite Magazine has many types of reviews and one of them is book reviews, either read or audio. Our Christmas Specialist is on the case for spooky holiday treats! Here is one of them!
This was a suspenseful quick story about a family home that was anything but perfect. Bob and Emma buy the Clark Mansion hoping to make it a happy home for their family. What they don’t know is that the house has a gory past.
And it’s a past that hasn’t left the house. As the readers/listener, we get the history of the house. We also get the story of Bob and Emma’s family being plagued by the past.
When someone says “goth” or “gothic,” most people automatically think of Marilyn Manson or scary-looking people. Being goth is so much more than that.
I Was Goth Before I Knew It
At thirty-seven years old, I believe I do know a big chunk of myself. I think I was born goth. I just didn’t know it. Or maybe I knew it, but the people raising me didn’t want me to be goth. They tried and shoved the Barbie look down my throat. It didn’t work. Goth shaming is a thing and it is dreadful.
My grandparents raised me. I am an only child, and so is my mother. As for my father, he left not long after I was born, never to return. My grandpa loved me no matter what I looked like. But, my grandmother was all about appearances. She never shied away from letting me know she wanted me to have blond hair and be lady-like.
Gothic Bite Magazine is officially relaunched this week! To kickstart our new beginning, we decided to do a week on how to survive an iconic slasher killer.
McConaughey Wasn’t Driving A Lincoln
The GBM Relaunch is winding down, and shockingly yet another Friday the 13th where I’m not talking about Jason. Biters, I can hear you cry blasphemy.
After all, it’s his big day, but we can’t end this relaunch without sending you off with some southern hospitality. That’s right, let’s talk Leatherface.

Putting the Pieces Together to Outwit Jigsaw
WARNING: Torture Porn
Like most horror franchises, the movies are countless, and each one comes up with a new plot and leaves viewers thinking. Now how would I outwit Jigsaw and survive the movie?
The Saw franchise has released nine movies, and unfortunately, we all know Hollywood isn’t the greatest for titling their movies. So we have Saw, Saw II, etc. But the numbers are in roman numerals just to give it a slight edge.

Remember The Beginning No One Forgot?
Imagine it. Home alone. Popcorn popping. You are getting ready to watch your favorite horror movie. Then the phone rings. It will most likely be your cell phone because, let’s face it, who really uses a landline anymore? It’s a number you don’t recognize.
Now, most of us would ignore it. We have become a society of texting and not answering nonrecognizable numbers. But what if they keep calling? You block the number.

Living with night terrors all my life had me meet a few therapists. Cursed with horrid nightmares and feeling pain through terror, I learned lucid dreaming. My fear of going to bed also developed insomnia. So, how to survive an iconic slasher killer like Freddy?
I am a light sleeper. Any faint sound can wake me as well as light. I need a white noise machine to muffle uneven noises. If I can feel or see light, as I often sleep with eyes half closed, I wake up, and it’s almost impossible to fall back asleep.
We don’t understand or have discovered many things about the human brain yet. We don’t know how powerful it can be. One delusion remains a mystery, Cotard’s Syndrome.
Tonight, when going to bed, my husband and I turned on the television and YouTube. We watched our regular channels, including Ask A Mortician, hosted by Caitlin Doughty. She talked about a real and fascinating brain disorder, Cotard’s Syndrome. So, are you human, vampire or the walking dead?
Caitlin Doughty has a unique way of explaining a complicated subject and turning it into a simplistic way of understanding. I love how she expresses herself and uses her humor to take something morbid and make it relatable. For that reason, I had to know more.
On Bookstagram of late last year, a new book was advertised and caught my attention. The book is loosely based on the true story of the Vardo Witch Trials.
About The Book
The Mercies by Kiran Millwood Hargrave takes the readers to the island of Vardo. We are pulled into the very experience the witch trials caused in Vardø in the year 1621.
Through the eyes and mind of Maren, we see the stories of the women of Vardø. We also share the Commander’s wife’s point of view, Ursa, who is responsible for sending the authorities to the village.
At Gothic Bite Magazine we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patient now. This week, we welcome Ashley Greathouse

I’m an extremely boring person, most of the time. On the rare occasions that I am doing something extraordinary, I can be found travelling around haunted Indiana, exploring the many paranormal hotspots the Hoosier state has to offer.
There are many slasher movies out there or home invasion movies. But have you ever stopped and wondered, what if there could be a new twist on an old recipe? Here’s my review!
The Official Summary!
When five college friends return home for their estranged friend’s funeral, what begins as an uneasy reunion becomes a terrifying fight for survival. — 30 Miles From Nowhere
What Are 30 Miles From Nowhere About?
The movie revolves around the reunion of five college friends two decades after their graduation to attend the funeral of their friend, Max. In Wisconsin, the group of friends reside for a few days in their long-time memory cabin in the woods on Max’s property.
What is dark romance? That was a question I was asked recently. Dark romance should tantalize the senses. It can be tragic or uplifting, but it has to explore the darker side of human nature.

A Little History
For me, as a novelist, it means a captivating romantic story that is dangerous and seductive, a tale that will lure readers with gothic tension and richly textured prose.
Historically, dark romance has been categorized as a literary subgenre of romanticism, an academic and artistic movement in Europe in the late eighteenth century. The defining characteristic of romanticism was an emphasis on emotion.

I enjoy checking out new music blind to me. Vampyrëan was one I had not heard before.
A Solo Project
Vampyrëan is the solo project from Vlad Janicek, a former member of Nosferatu. That right away got my attention.
I am familiar with Nosferatu and really enjoy their gothic rock-infused music. I then saw that Chris Pohl from Blutengel is featured on the track. That made me even more excited to listen.
I am not ashamed to say I am a big fan of the Blair Witch franchise. But everyone despises the sequel, and it had me want to revisit it. Here is my review!
As it follows the twisted path traveled by five people fixated on The Blair Witch Project, Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows journeys into a dark and dangerous place where the line between truth and fiction blurs and perhaps vanishes altogether.
Come read about the foreign group that is inspiring our YouTube Addict, James Vaughan! Come over and discover music you might not have heard of before!
Mongolian Wolves
Biters, I think it’s obvious at this point I’m a bit of a hard rock, metal fan. So, I’d like to tackle the Mongolian throat singing metal band The Hu.
The Hu was introduced to me a few months back by one of my gaming friends. It happened through what must be their most well-known song and the center piece of this article, Wolf Totem.
The Zodiac Killer, or simply Zodiac or The Zodiac, is the pseudonym of a serial killer who operated in Northern California in the late 1960s — Wikipedia.
The Popularity Of An Unknown Killer
Every few years, theories surrounding unsolved mysteries revolving around faceless serial killers gain in popularity. For that reason, I have decided to spotlight the infamous Zodiac Killer.
Many know of The Zodiac, who became a famous serial killer in pop culture with movies etc.
