Batman’s The Joker Is The Greatest Villain And Here Is Why

Have you ever thought about the psychological state of Batman’s villains? I do. So, let’s dive in and learn more about the worst that Gotham has to offer!

How It Started For Joker

In Spring 1940, the Joker made its first appearance in Batman #1. A few of us don’t know that he was meant to be a one-issue villain. We know that he is Batman’s archnemesis, but he is also a criminal mastermind. So, let’s see about the Joker’s psychological file!

However, due to his popularity, the prankster continued his journey in the comic book. Despite his popularity, reinvented as a harmless villain, the Joker fell into the abyss until the 70s.

Lifestyle-Shaming Is A Normal People Thing

Humans are solar-powered for the most part. But, what if you’re just a goth? Learning that you are a nocturnal creature goes against society’s beliefs. Either that or you’re young partying too much.

From Dusk Till Dawn

Lifestyle-shaming is a normal people thing. This is something quite interesting, isn’t it?

We see the people we love getting up when we go to bed. We get laughed at or criticised for living in the night. People believe we aren’t normal, and we hear the same sentences repeatedly.

A Real Vampire Burial

It was customary to bury them differently than people. Back in the day, when populations believed in witches, werewolves and vampires, one was never safe from gossip or vampires.

Vampires In All History

The word vampire might have had various meanings throughout human history, but it did travel the world. Since the dawn of time, creatures with mortal bites have made it into legends and folklores. But what about a real vampire burial?

Find in all civilisations known to humankind, even those that never met, a vampire-like creature made it into history.

Goth Shaming Is A Thing It Is Dreadful

When someone says “goth” or “gothic,” most people automatically think of Marilyn Manson or scary-looking people. Being goth is so much more than that.

I Was Goth Before I Knew It

At thirty-seven years old, I believe I do know a big chunk of myself. I think I was born goth. I just didn’t know it. Or maybe I knew it, but the people raising me didn’t want me to be goth. They tried and shoved the Barbie look down my throat. It didn’t work. Goth shaming is a thing and it is dreadful.

My grandparents raised me. I am an only child, and so is my mother. As for my father, he left not long after I was born, never to return. My grandpa loved me no matter what I looked like. But, my grandmother was all about appearances. She never shied away from letting me know she wanted me to have blond hair and be lady-like.

Exploring The Darker Side Of Human Nature In Fiction by Jane Jordan

What is dark romance? That was a question I was asked recently. Dark romance should tantalize the senses. It can be tragic or uplifting, but it has to explore the darker side of human nature.

*** JANE JORDAN IS THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE DESPITE LISTED AS FRÉDÉRIQUE WINTER ***

A Little History

For me, as a novelist, it means a captivating romantic story that is dangerous and seductive, a tale that will lure readers with gothic tension and richly textured prose.

Historically, dark romance has been categorized as a literary subgenre of romanticism, an academic and artistic movement in Europe in the late eighteenth century. The defining characteristic of romanticism was an emphasis on emotion.

The Puritan Torture Of Jane Doe

Mainstream Horror Vs. Indie Horror

When we think about horror movies or series, we only think about the big screen names. But forced to be inside had me discover gems behind the curtains.

According To The Critiques

Mainstream vs. indie horror is a fair question. If we are talking about horror movies, titles like Halloween and Friday the 13th comes to mind. We can go older with The Exorcist and Psycho. It goes back to the 30s with Dracula and Frankenstein.

Horror is a genre that has been snubbed over the years, over decades! The general public sees horror as a genre without paying attention to all the subgenres. Horror is the tip of the iceberg, it’s what we see but everything underneath are the subgenres.

Each Step Of Catholic Possession Obsession

When working on my new novel series, I thought that I could write it without a sweat with a certification in demonology. But, it turns out that possessions go more profound than we thought. Welcome to Catholic-based possessions.

When The Church Authorizes An Exorcism

When enough proof of demonic possession surfaces, the Catholic Church may authorize an exorcism. However, it goes under scrutiny. The Church doesn’t want to have an association with the devil-like it once did.

For exorcisms to receive approval is almost impossible. Many characteristics must surface, and criteria met. There must be proof of manifestation, foreign language, knowledge, and profanity.

Each step of Catholic Possession Obsession is now in effect but first, the warnings and triggers!
Trigger Warnings: Mental illness | Physical abuse | Mental abuse | Belief | Religion
*** Note here that we are talking about Christianity and Catholic possessions.

Why Is 666 The Number Of The Beast

What numbers do we think about when we hear the word ‘devil’ or ‘evil?’ 666. But why is 666 the number of the Beast, and what does it mean? How far back are we going?

666 In Pop Culture

Why is 666 the number of the beast? The number 666 goes back a while, but we also use it to represent something negative, such as the Beast in today’s world. Often when houses or buildings have 666 addresses, they have a lower price—people associate, like the number 13, a bad reputation.

Each Step Of Catholic Possession

When working on my new novel series, I thought with a certification in demonology, I could write it without a sweat. But, it turns out that possessions go more profound than we thought. Welcome to Catholic-based possessions.

The Warnings

Each step of Catholic possession is coming, but first, we must put some warning!

Trigger Warnings: Mental Illness | Physical Abuse | Mental Abuse | Belief | Religion.

When Possession History Begins

In the Old Testament from The Bible, there is a mention of King Saul, who states that an evil spirit tormented him (1 Samuel 16:14.)

However, this seems to be outside of him and not something coming from within. Moreover, the Catholic Encyclopaedia is not keen on the idea of King Saul’s possession because it was a torment and not a proof of direct possession.

The Ups And Downs Of Found-Footage

My favorite horror movie genre is found footage. It’s like I can’t get enough of that style, and I know what many people think, it’s cheap, and it’s cheesy and bad. But, many underrated movies are gaining popularity in the genre. Here are some!

The Found Footage Debate

Many of us believe that the found footage style began with The Blair Witch Project in 1999. Then you have those who argue that Cannibal Holocaust from 1980 is the first of its kind. However, maybe some of us were wrong. The ups and downs of found-footage started in the new millennium for sure!

*** Before we go any further, let’s remind ourselves of a great tool to avoid trauma while watching horror movies: Does The Dog Die ***

While Cannibal Holocaust was part found footage, it wasn’t all found footage. However, maybe they were the first to exploit the marketing method of asking their actors to hide to reinforce the “true story” part. The director was also dragged to court and had to pay a fee for animal cruelty.

Reviewing Horror Movies And The Subgenres

Horror is a vast genre. But, sadly, it rarely gets the recognition it deserves. Too often, critiques disregard horror, and yet, the fandom can’t have enough.

The Beginning of Horror

Reviewing horror movies and the subgenres is quite a task. So, let’s get into it!

Horror goes back centuries when folklore and legends were born. Creatures such as ghosts, vampires, demons, witches, and underwater monsters existed well before writing about them. So, I guess we can say in a way, horror is in our DNA.

Did You Know Death Was An Angel

We often associate Death with the Grim Reaper or a dark silhouette. However, its origin and appearance are quite different than we know, and the name is Azrael.

The Origin of Death

Did you know Death was an angel? Having a being the representative of Death is part of many cultures, but here we are focusing on Death’s relatively old portrayal. It is part of Islam, Jewish, and Catholic faiths.

In Norse, the goddess Hel is the Underworld ruler and is, by definition, Death. In Greek as well as Roman mythology, Thanatos is the one to bring Death upon humans. Those are the bearer of the end of life and the beginning of the afterlife.

The Devil’s Landing On Earth

If you grew up Catholic, you must well know the story where Archangel Michael defeated the Devil, and he fell from Heaven. But, where exactly did he land? Satan created Hell following his fall. The answer might surprise you.

The Fall Of All Falls

As part of the Abrahamic religions, Satan or the Devil often uses seduction to induce a sinful response from humans. The Devil is part of almost all religions throughout history. But the one we are addressing comes from not only Catholicism and Christianity, but also Islam as well as Judaism. The Devil’s landing on Earth, is it real?

The Devil is a fallen angel, but when angelic one of the most precious ones to God. He was his favorite and most beautiful angel and ‘son’ at the time. Despite his rebellion against God when he refused to bow to Adam, the Devil lived.
