The Saw franchise has released nine movies, and unfortunately, we all know Hollywood isn’t the greatest for titling their movies. So we have Saw, Saw II, etc. But the numbers are in roman numerals just to give it a slight edge.

Northern Norway’s Witch Trials

On Bookstagram of late last year, a new book was advertised and caught my attention. The book is loosely based on the true story of the Vardo Witch Trials.

About The Book

The Mercies by Kiran Millwood Hargrave takes the readers to the island of Vardo. We are pulled into the very experience the witch trials caused in Vardø in the year 1621.

Through the eyes and mind of Maren, we see the stories of the women of Vardø. We also share the Commander’s wife’s point of view, Ursa, who is responsible for sending the authorities to the village.

Forget the policeman or fireman! When Daniel Gonzalez grew up, he wanted to be a real-life slasher movie serial killer. He wanted to kill and frighten strangers.

A new Serial Killer Expert joined the GBM team. Her name is Paula Phillips, and she brings us a story about a New Zealand killer.

The year was 1954. Little Things Means A Lot by Kitty Kalen was number one on the Billboard Music Charts. Marilyn Monroe marrying and divorcing Joe DiMaggio was one of the main stories talked about in celebrity headlines. 

Meanwhile, in Christchurch, New Zealand, two best friends Pauline Parker and Juliet Hulme, conspired together and murdered the woman keen on separating the girls from seeing each other.
